How long will it take to get my holster

Shipping times are generally a shot in the dark there is no way to know how long it will take to ship. Currently we are shipping between 2 and 3 weeks to get in the mail. With the current political atmosphere everybody is buying personal protection equipment. DME holsters is not a production shop, we are a custom shop. Generally speaking we don’t make it till you order it!

Lights and lasers
Lights and lasers for great for outside the waistband holsters, with that being said if you insist on having a light or laser on your IWB Holster. May I suggest that you look for a light or laser that has the lowest profile and this is as thin as possible the Stream light TLR6 is an excellent example. Crimson Trace and Laser Max both make small light and laser combos. I would caution you on buying off brands most holster manufacturers will not be able to work with them. Mainly because they’re not uniformly the same size or fit correctly.
Suede wrap discontinued

Let’s talk about Carry position.

Appendix carry
Simply what it sounds like the weapon is carried on the front of your body between your groin and your left or right hip. It’s for the physically fit people. It doesn’t work too well with a beer belly. Belt clips, soft belt loops or J hooks are excellent choices for this position.

3 to 4 o’clock for right-handed people.
8 to 9 o’clock for left-handed people.
This works well for everybody. I highly recommend the belt clip for this position. Soft belt loops & J hooks in my opinion work very well here. Look at your pants your second belt loop is most likely at about 3:30 position. Your J Hook will hook behind that belt loop and your holster will have a tendency to slidebackwards. A belt clip will hook in front of that loop and keep your holster in place at the 3 o’clock position. However, some of you will still need to use the soft belt loops or J hooks, because they are tuckable. Belt clips are not. If you have to have something that is tuckable. I would recommend the J hook.

Small of the back.
You are carrying your weapon at the 6 o’clock position in the middle of your back. I Definitely don’t recommend it. If you fall on your back or get pushed into something, you’re going to hurt your back.

Open Barrel V Closed Barrel

Pretty simple! Just a matter of preference. I personally prefer a close barrel.
And you never want to be completely closed barrel never be able to get anything out of there including water.

What does IWB stand for?
DME Holsters

Inside the Waistband,  this is what a police detective, undercover officer, or someone with a CCW permit would use. The bottom portion of the holster is concealed within your pants. Typically the butt of the gun is exposed for you to  easily draw your weapon.

IWB/OWB Belts, Belt loops, clips and J Hooks and everything else
Let’s start with attachments attachments are what we use to attach the holster to your belt it is imperative that you use metal or nylon injection molded parts. Anyone who’s trying to sell you a Kydex belt loop, belt clip or J Hook it’s only a matter of time until it fails!  DME Holsters only uses high quality  nylon/steel attachment.

Belts, it’s imperative that you wear a high-quality belt.

IWB Attaching Hardware

img_2737#1 The Ulti Clip
By far the best clip hands down. It works on any type of clothing Clip it on your jeans put your belt on over extremely concealable. It’s tuckable easy on and off very convenient and easy to use.  For the lady’s clip in to your purse? yoga pants? The only thing I don’t like is they do not offer an offset clip. So when you attach it under the barrel it has to be built up with washers. Also they like them $11.99 each
Used for the Standard AIWB line of holsters.

img_2740#2 Soft Belt loops
Are the second best overall, with pull the dot snaps very secure. Used with a strut as shown they are tuckable.
Used for the Standard AIWB line of holsters.
Can also be mounted directly to the holster (Not tuckable)
Used for the Standard IWB line of holsters.
They are adjustable to accommodate  about 1.25″ to 2.00″ belt.

img_2739#3 J Hooks

Coming in at third in my opinion. J hooks are tuckable can be mounted on the barrel or under. Very easy to put on. Very secure in holding on to your belt. avabile in 1.5″ or 1.75″.
Used for the Standard AIWB line of holsters.

img_2730#4 The FOMI
This is the industry standard for IWB holsters. Comes in 1.5″ or 1.75″ Very easy to put on and take off. The FOIM is not tuckable. If you put on and take of your holster a lot during the day, this is the way to go. But user beware if not correctly sized to your belt or mounted to the holster, your holster could come out when you draw. That being said it is still the industry standard you just need to be mindful of it.

img_2738#5 Metal Clips
There are tuckable can be mounted on or under the barrel.

You can also order extra belt clips or J hooks, it’s not very hard to change them out.

OWB Attaching Hardware

Long Duty Drop Offset

Long Duty Drop Offset

For the Standard OWB Holster I personally recommend the Long Duty Drop & off set with the adjustable SR loop. If you decide you don’t want your holster to ride that low you can remove the Long Duty Drop and attach the Adjustable SR Loop directly to the holster. As always if you have any questions please feel free to call us at 775-235-8520

Add this Long Duty Drop & Offset to your Standard OWB holster you can drop your holster approximately 2 1/2 to 3 inches lower than your belt

Large Tek-Lok $15.99

Large Tek-Lok

Standard OWB Holster, comes with the large TeK-Loc or the Adjustable SR Loop. Size is adjustable from approximately 3/4′ to 2 1/4″. When mounted to the holster your belt will be right around the trigger guard maybe a little higher then the trigger guard depending on your gun. Dimensions of the Tek Loc are 3″ x 2″.

Add the Long Duty Drop & Offset to your Standard OWB to lower your weapon 2 to 3 inches.

Adjustable Sting Ray Loop

Adjustable Sting Ray Loop

This is the Adjustable SR Loop. Belt size is adjustable from approximately 3/4′ to 2 1/4″. When mounted to the holster your belt will be right around the trigger guard maybe a little higher then the trigger guard depending on your gun. Dimensions of the Tek Loc are 3″ x 3 3/4″.

Add the Long Duty Drop & Offset to your Standard OWB to lower your weapon 2 to 3 inches.

Drop Mount w/Adj SR Loop $22.99

Drop Mount w/Adj SR Loop

This is the standard drop with an adjustable SR Loop. Trigger guard and drop are the same as the long drop. The long Drop has one more mounting point on the barrel which in my opinion makes it more sturdy.

SR Loop 1.25" to 2.25" $15.99

SR Loop 1.25″ to 2.25″

Standard SR Loop mounts directly to the holster available and multiple belt sizes

What does AIWB stand for?
Simply put it is a holster design to be carried at the 11 or 1 o’clock position. (left or right handed) The versatility of the holster allows it to be carried at any position on the body. There are several different configurations with this holster. All are tuckable & and have adjustable retention.

DME Holsters
Single attaching point under the barrel.
Fixed attachment point under the barrel.
Under the barrel attachment points require offset J hooks or soft belt loops.

Nothing for you to worry about here, once you select the attaching point. We will know if it is offset or not.

DME Holsters
Single attachment point on the barrel
Fixed attaching point on the barrel.
On the barrel attachment point requires J hooks or soft belt loops.

All holsters come with adjustable retention & are tuckable
Single attaching point
The advantage to a single attachment point user has the ability to adjust the cant on-the-fly.

Fixed attachment point
The user has no ability to adjust the cant on the fixed option the cant will be 90°.

What does OWB stand for?
Outside the Waistband. It’s typically what you see police officers using. The entire holster is exposed on your body.
Standard OWB Taco Holsters
They look just like the Standard IWB holster but are made out of .093 Boltaron. The trigger guard his position at your belt. Can be ordered with a drop attachment see the parts page.
What is tuckable?
You can tuck your shirt in over the gun & holster. Not something I do, but a lot of people do.
Hardware screws & such
This is what we use to put your holster together and attach your belt clip or J hook.  All hardware is 8/32″ thread  made out of black oxide steel, with the exception of rivets. Rivets are made out of brass.
Not a lot of choices here.

DME Holsters Hardware1) Stock screw set is just a Phillips head screw and binding post.
2) Phillips head screw & finish washer, adds a nice touch to your holster.
3) Cap head screw and finish washer, adds the finishing touch to your holster.
If you’re not sure what you want you can of course purchase a hardware pack.
Hardware pack includes all three options and an Allen wrench. Very easy to change out.

What does CCW stand for?
Concealed Carry Weapon. Typically if you want to carry a concealed weapon you’re required to have a permit issued by your home state.
What is a drop leg holster?
A drop leg holster is something that you would see a SWAT officer wearing. Or a holster you would see in old western movies. It rides lower on your leg and the grip will typically be at arms length. The entire holster is exposed on your leg. Extremely fast draw.
It is also an excellent choice for hunting.
What is a chest rig?
Exactly what it sounds like it is designed to be worn on your chest for easy access. Generally not concealable. This is something you would see a SWAT officer use or someone hunting.
What Is Approximately 15° Cant

We try to set the holster up to minimize the footprint. To do this we tilt the gun forward. This will help you to conceal your weapon when you are carrying it. See photo to the right.

As many concealed carry enthusiasts, I have a box of holsters I have tried over the years that have epically failed, especially appendix style holsters. I prefer to carry appedix for many reasons but above all it is the most comfortable and least restrictive for my edc needs. I recently found DME holster on the web and reached out to Tim. From there his holster expertise couple with my needs/wants led to the creation of an amazing holster. I carry my Ruger 357 LCR in this holster and could not be happier. Tim is a great guy to work qith and his holster fit and finish is spectacular. I am completely satisfied and will be reaching out soon for more holsters for other handguns that I rotate into my EDC. Take the plunge, you will not regret your purchase.

Kimber CDP II
I own two kydex holsters by DME holsters and I love them. The adjustable retention is superb. These holsters do not collapse allowing one handed reholstering. Quality is outstanding. you can’t go wrong with DME!!!

Raymond (verified owner):

Best Holster!!!
I own several DME holsters. They are the only holsters I wear because of their comfort, weapon retention, and weapon attainability. The best holster for the money by far! They are a great company to deal with also.

Dean B. (verified owner):

Bought 1911 3″ standard IWB for Para PDA. Fits perfect out of the package but it’s good to know I could adjust the retention if needed. Holster is very fast to put on and take off. Clip design holds holster completely secure and comfortable even when wearing shorts with a regular nylon belt. Furthermore the holster positions the pistol grip against your back . (4 – 5 o’clock carry). No printing. Since it’s kydex there is no collapse so reholstering is easy. Add to that a great price and free shipping, this holster is hard to beat. I’m ordering one for my Glock.

Ruger lcr 357 featherlight iwb. Holster is very light very compact and easily to concealed. Awesome workmanship it fit my weapon like a glove. For them to build a holster with a lasermax attachment they did outstanding job. Communication with the seller was the best I have ever experienced. I look forward to doing business with this company in the near future.

Amazing Craftsmanship and Business

Springfield XD SubCompact M2
From shipping to overall quality this is by far the best holster I own, my original shipping ETA was 10-14 days and received it in nearly half that. Upon opening the shipping package it was well wrapped and protected on top of the already straight forward packaging. In the packaging I received warranty and care information, a hardware kit, and the holster itself. Upon initial inspection the design is extremely streamlined which I find ideal for everyday carry versus a more bulky product. The edging is perfect, there is no snagging and the smooth matte finish feels great when wearing this product for extended periods of time. The initial fit was dead on and the heavy duty belt clip is placed in the most ideal position. I look forward to conducting future business with DME.

I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II in a shoulder rig in the cooler months and needed a concealed carry holster for the summer. In researching a potential purchase on the web, I came across DME Holsters on eBay. I was interested in an IWB holster for the small of the back carry but didn’t see the exact model I needed and contacted the company for availability. I was promptly answered by Tim who translated my needs into a particular model and I placed the order for a small of the back holster with a right hand draw with a negative cant. Four days later, my holster arrived and I couldn’t be more pleased. It has great quality, excellent fit on the pistol and perfect positioning on the draw. Thank you Tim. This company’s service and products are outstanding. I plan on buying other DME products!

.40 xd sub compact IWB
The holster looks and feels great and comfortable to wear. These holsters are legit!

Daniel R. (verified owner):

The last holster you’ll ever buy I bought an iwb holster for my xd .45 service model when their store was still on eBay. I was new to kydex and still unsure about it. This is by far the best holster I own. It’s durable, comfortable and does not require two hands to reholster. The sweat guard keeps your gun off your body and dry. The cant also enforces good hand position when drawing your firearm. I hope they will make one for a G.I 1911. Also great price and custom feel without the custom cost.

Todd C. – 06/05/2015:

I purchased a DME IWB holster several months ago and have been totally in love with it.  I have purchased 7 other IWB holsters and they were either too bulky, uncomfortable, didn't retain the pistol properly, or didn't release it when drawing.  I have been using the DME holster now exclusively and it fits the my Kimber Pro Crimson Carry II perfectly.  It is so comfortable, I forget I am wearing it and it performs flawlessly.  Thank you for a great product.  I am a NRA certified pistol instructor and I only recommend your holster for my students.

Kimber Ultra Carry II
I own many holsters from leather IWBs to pancackes to hybrids. This holster is by far my favorite. Fit and finish are sot on.. retention was perfect right out of the box. Kydex used is top of the line. Belt clip and 15 degree cant are perfect. What can I say, this has been the only concealed carry holster I use(daily) since I received it. Buy this holster now, you won’t regret it. In fact you`ll want one for all of your weapons.

Daniel H – 07/10/2015:

Extremely pleased with my new DME holster. I have not carried as much as I would like, because I have not found a comfortable holster…..
Until now! This is a super high quality /well made product and most importantly…. comfortable!
It fit my .38 S&W Airwweight snubnose perfectly.
Great customer service & quick delivery..hassle free.
Plus, made in USA..what more could you ask?
I will be purchasing additional DME holsters for my other handguns as well.
