The so-called Kydex holster
So before we move on to specific information about the different types of “Kydex” holsters we make, let’s make sure that we understand a few things! Kydex is used as a general term to identify plastic holsters. There are several different brands of thermoforming plastic that all holster makers use. Kydex is the most popular, but when it comes to certain types of colors or patterns you cannot use or get it in Kydex. The second leading product is Boltaron. DME Holsters uses Boltaron over Kydex when we can, because we like it better. All of the carbon fiber patterns that you see are made from Holstex. If you’re ordering a holster with a print or pattern on it that is most likely Kydex. The moral of the story here is kydex holsters are not necessarily made out of Kydex.
When you’re ready to buy a holster here are some things to look for:
Trigger guard Must to be covered. This is to prevent you from sticking your finger on the trigger and having a negligent discharge.
Mag release on the outside of the holster has to be covered. This is to prevent your mag from ejecting when you bump into something.
Bottom of the holster should be enclosed not necessarily completely but around the edge of the barrel. This is because you’re going to pull your pants up my grabbing the bottom of your holster. (When no one’s looking of course) and you don’t want to bump the gun out of the holster.
Sweat Gard this one’s kind of obvious keep the sweat off the gun
Kydex thickness OWB .93 or greater reinforced attachment points. IWB .080 or greater. Never use .060 for anything. Well not exactly true depending on your attachment on Standard OWB we sometimes use .060 for the reinforcement.

The Mod Wing
The Mod Wing is a standalone piece of concealment enhancing hardware. It allows a user’s belt to apply additional leverage by rotating the holster and the grip of the gun towards the body, creating better concealment and less printing of the firearm and holster. Interchangeable inserts allow the user to choose a strong or mild rotation, based on the user’s attire.

DME Holsters Standard AIWB

This holster is designed for maximum concealability. The AIWB Appendix holster. The AIWB holster is specifically designed to be carried in the appendix position, however it does work well in any position you choose to carry it.
The unique feature about the AIWB holster is that it has ability to have a single attaching point (Most AIWB holsters are shipped with 2 screws you can remove one) for your J hooks or belt loops. With the single attaching point you can adjust the cant on your holster on the fly. When you’re in an upright position and walking 0° cant. Driving adjust to a positive or negative cant to be more comfortable. Now you may say that doesn’t sound very durable. Remember all the J hook/belt loops are doing is keeping the holster in place when you draw your weapon or holster it. The attachment point can be under the barrel or on the barrel: This is a nice option it allows much more of the Kydex/Boltaron under the barrel to be removed. or old School Fixed under the barrel. DME Holsters will decide where the attachment point we’ll be.
All depends on your preference. This and your weapon will also determine whether you use a straight J hook or a offset J hook/belt loop. AIWB holsters are tuckable.

DME Holsters Pancake Holsters

The OWB Pancake holster is made out of black .080 Boltaron or Kydex. It’s very strong, has excellent durability, scratch resistance, and good definition. The design is approximately 80/20 split. What does that mean? Approximately 80% of the weapon is to the outside with 20% to the inside. Trigger guard will be position at the belt line.
The Pancake holster is very concealable fits tight to the body with speed clips or flat loops just throw a loose shirt on over it. Generally speaking the weapon will be positioned straight up and down the holster with no cant especially with a weapon light. Cant will be adjusted by moving the loops up-and-down the holster. Unless it has no light or is a small Frame weapon then 15° cant is possible. Request in the special instructions section of the order form.
Although not designed as a IWB holster with a simple clip/belt loop change (available as a separate purchase) our 80/20 OWB Pancake holster can become a very comfortable IWB Holster. Starting At $69
